Nunn's new home, and SI love for Dubinsky

After a season abroad, former Alaska Aces winger Garry Nunn has turned back up in the ECHL -- he's signed with the Gwinnett Gladiators in Georgia, where he joins former Aces center bobby Hughes.

Nunn, 24, played three full seasons with the Aces, and won a Kelly Cup with them, after joining them for a short spell following his final season in the Western Hockey League. Last season, he skated for Valpellice in Italy, racking 18-32--50 totals in 42 games. That production tied him for 12th on the circuit in points.

And in the latest edition of Sports Illustrated, at least the one that landed in my mailbox today, there's a shout-out for Columbus Blue Jackets center Brandon Dubinsky of Anchorage.

Dubinsky is listed as the "Hidden Gem'' in the Metropolitan Division. Writes Brian Cazeneuve: "The rugged Dubinsky's name doesn't come up as often as it should in discussions of quality power forwards. He had a pair of 20-goal seasons with the Rangers, in 2009-10 and '10-11, and played a forceful games last year, with 16 goals, 34 assists and 98 penalty minutes.''
