Houston's Aaron Drake and Nome's Emery Booshu extended their winning streaks Saturday with championship-round victories at the Lancer Smith Memorial wrestling tournament in Palmer.
Drake, wrestling at 126 pounds, ran his record to 29-0 by stopping Greg Shack of South with an 8-6 sudden victory.
Booshu moved to 27-0 on the season with an 8-3 decision over South's Rami Pellumbi in the 145-pound finale.
Team titles went to South in Class 4A competition and Kotzebue in Class 123A competition.
South edged Colony by two points, 195.5-193.5. Kotzebue coasted to its victory, scoring 203 points to easily top runnerup Nikiski, which scoreed 97.5.
South advanced six wrestlers to the finals but produced only one champion -- Gavin Alvarado at 132 pounds. Colony, which had three in the finals, produced the 160-pound champion in Robert Haan.
Kotzebue boasted three individual champs, more than any other school. Gavin Maslen won at 113 pounds, Zach Haviland at 170 and Josh Roetman at 182 for the Huskies.
