Search underway for Kwethluk man missing since Friday

A search is underway for a 67-year-old Kwethluk man last seen in that Southwest Alaska community early Friday morning, according to Alaska State Troopers.

Troopers wrote in a dispatch Sunday that Andrew Andrew was wearing a red and black down jacket, as well as grey pants, when he was last seen walking in the village at about 1:30 a.m. Friday.

Andrew is known to "frequently travel on foot around Kwethluk" and is believed to have cognitive disabilities related to his age, troopers said.

A ground search is underway in the village, about 12 miles east of the hub community of Bethel.

Anyone with information on Andrew's whereabouts is asked to call troopers in Bethel at 1-907-543-2294.

This is a developing story.
