Big Lake man faces child sex abuse charges

Alaska State Troopers say a Big Lake man is facing charges of sexually abusing a minor.

According to an online trooper dispatch, the Alaska Bureau of Investigation began investigating a report of child sexual abuse on Jan. 20. As a result of the investigation, troopers said, they are charging 53-year-old Trace Gentis with one count each of first- and second-degree sexual abuse of a minor.

Troopers said the victim they accuse Gentis of abusing was a 4-year-old girl.

On Monday, three days after a warrant was issued for his arrest, Gentis turned himself in at troopers' Palmer post, they said, and was taken to Mat-Su Pretrial facility.
