Anchorage bowler Rash delivers perfect TV performance

With the spotlight at its brightest, Anchorage's Sean Rash delivered lights-out bowling Sunday.

Rash performed to perfection on national television, rolling a 300 game at the PBA Tournament of Champions at Woodland Bowl in Indianapolis.

The perfect game was the 25th in PBA history to happen on live TV -- it aired Sunday morning during ESPN's coverage of the 50th annual tournament.

It was the second nationally television 300 game by Rash, who last year threw 12 straight strikes in the nationally televised Wolf Open in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

No other PBA bowler has rolled two perfect games on TV.

Sunday's 300 lifted Rash into the tournament semifinals against Australia's Jason Belmonte, who beat Rash 235-203. Belmonte went on to beat Rhino Page 232-214 in the finals to earn the $50,000 first-place prize.

Rash, 32, pocketed $13,000 for his third-place finish. The Dimond High graduate, who in 2011-12 was the PBA Bowler of the Year, is nearing the $1 million mark for career earnings -- since 2005, he has won $972,031 on the PBA Tour.

The owner of 17 perfect games in PBA competition, Rash has won eight PBA tournament titles.
