Troopers: 3 Nome men face multiple felonies after drug stings

Three Nome men were jailed and each facing multiple felony charges after a pair of drug busts there Wednesday yielded heroin, marijuana, prescription drugs and "other narcotics," Alaska State Troopers said.

Darrell Stevens, 27, was charged with 11 felony counts for possessing and distributing heroin. Christian Johnson, 22, was charged with eight felony counts for possession and distribution of heroin, ethylone and prescription medications. Aleksei Wilson, 28, faces four felony charges for distributing heroin and marijuana.

The men were charged with multiple counts of second-, third- and fourth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance, but a troopers report posted online didn't immediately connect specific charges to each person.

Troopers said five separate search warrants were executed as part of the buy/bust operation and a handful of agencies participated in the sting -- including Western Alaska Alcohol and Narcotics Team units from Nome, Kotzebue and Anchorage, the federal Drug Enforcement Administration, the Nome Police Department's K9 unit and Alaska State Troopers.

The men were taken to the Anvil Mountain Correctional Facility in Nome.
