Aces winger Connolly All-ECHL Second Team

Despite a slow start, Alaska Aces veteran winger Brendan Connolly has accelerated his production to lead the club in all three principal scoring categories and Thursday he was rewarded as an All-ECHL Second-Team selection.

Connolly, 29, has delivered 31-46--77 totals in 61 games, which through Wednesday tied him for third on the circuit in points. All three of his scoring totals are career highs.

All that has come despite scoring just one goal in the first 13 games following offseason wrist surgery.

Connolly was selected in a vote of ECHL coaches, broadcasters, media relations directors and media.

Connolly has generated two hat tricks and five multiple-goal games, and 23 multiple-point games. He has had an eight-game point streak and a seven-game point streak.

Connolly also leads the Aces in power-play points -- a team-high nine goals with the man advantage and 21 points.

The Aces have landed at least one player on the All-ECHL First Team or Second Team, or All-Rookie Team, in five straight seasons and 10 of their 12 seasons on the circuit.
