2 arrested in armed robbery of Anchorage store

Update, 8:15 a.m. Sunday: Anchorage police have identified two suspects arrested in the armed robbery of an Anchorage smoke shop Saturday. Siaosi Sila, 21, and Solomon Travita, 22, were arrested in connection with the robbery, which police said took place around 7 p.m.

Sila was charged with first-degree robbery, third-degree misconduct involving weapons, two counts of third-degree assault and violating conditions of release. His bail was set at $100,000, with a $5,000 performance bond and a third-party custodian. Travita was charged with first-degree robbery and failure to stop at the direction of an officer. His bail was set at $40,000, with a performance bond of $1,000 and a third-party custodian required.

Original story: Anchorage police say they've arrested the primary suspect in an armed robbery that happened Saturday evening at the Smoke King store in Mountain View.

Police said they got a call around 7 p.m. saying that a male armed with a gun demanded money from a Smoke King employee and then left in a car. Witnesses gave police a description of the car, which police then found on the 340 block of Concrete Street. Several people ran from the car; police arrested a person who was identified as the robber, they said.

Two other people have been detained and are under investigation, police said.
