Body of Ketchikan woman found in Tongass Narrows

The body of a Ketchikan woman was recovered from the waters of the Tongass Narrows early Thursday morning, Alaska State Troopers said.

Trooper spokesperson Beth Ipsen said someone in a boat spotted a body floating about a quarter mile from a U.S. Coast Guard installation and called troopers at about 1 a.m.

The Coast Guard and troopers recovered the body and identified it as 34-year-old Angeline T. Dundas.

Dundas was never reported as a missing person and was last seen alive at 10 p.m. Wednesday, Ipsen said.

Dundas' family was notified and her body will be sent to the State Medical Examiner Office, where an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of her death. According to Ipsen, troopers do not suspect foul play.

Troopers ask anyone with information to contact them at 907-225-5118.
