Midtown Anchorage bank robbed Friday morning, suspect sought

The Anchorage FBI office said a Midtown Anchorage bank was robbed Friday morning.

When the bank robber approached a teller at 10:15 a.m. at Credit Union 1 on Eureka Street, he displayed what appeared to be a revolver and demanded money from bank employees, according to the FBI. He was given cash, but the FBI would not say how much.

The suspect left in a vehicle, hearing toward A Street, the FBI reported.

The FBI described him as a light-skinned black man in his mid-30s, about 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall. He was wearing a black and white jacket, a Los Angeles Lakers hat and black sunglasses, the FBI said.

The suspect also reportedly walked with a slight limp in his left leg.

No one was hurt during the robbery, said Credit Union 1 vice president of communications and culture Khrissy Bell.

Anyone with information about the robbery or suspect is asked to call the FBI at 907-276-4441 or the Anchorage Police Department at 907-786-8500.
