Five runners crack 5-minute mark in Anchorage Mile

Andrew Ochoa and Anna Dalton sped to victories in the Anchorage Mile on Saturday, with Dalton running fast enough to claim fifth place overall in the field of 125.

Ochoa set the pace at the race at the Delaney Park Strip by covering the course in 4 minutes, 28.3 seconds. He finished 2.2 seconds ahead of Anthony Tomsich.

Dalton topped the women in 4:55.3, one of just five sub-5:00 times of the day. Second place in the women's race went to Katelyn Steen in 5:00.0.

The race was part of the Big Wild Life Runs, which continue Sunday with a 49-kilometer ultra, a marathon, a half-marathon and a 5-K. All of those races start and end downtown at Town Square.
