1 injured in overnight shooting in Anchorage

Anchorage police say a man was shot in the foot Sunday in early morning gunfire outside a Mountain View gas station.

Police were called to a disturbance outside the store, located on Mountain View Drive, just after 4 a.m., the Anchorage Police Department said in a news release Sunday.

"It was reported shots were fired and all the subjects were fleeing the scene," according to the release.

Soon after, a "young adult male" arrived at a local hospital emergency room with a gunshot wound to his foot.

Police said they believe he was involved with the Mountain View shooting, but was uncooperative with officers.

Anyone with information can call 561-STOP.
