Glenn Highway crash leaves Palmer man in critical condition

A Palmer man is in critical condition after being ejected from his pickup truck in a collision on the Glenn Highway north of Palmer Saturday, Alaska State Troopers said in an online dispatch Sunday.

At 7:43 p.m. Saturday, troopers arrived at the intersection of the Glenn Highway and Farm Loop Road for a reported accident.

Jody Carman, 55, of Palmer, had failed to stop his Ford pickup truck at a stop sign at Farm Loop Road, colliding with a Chevrolet van driven by 60-year-old George Costley of Sutton, according to troopers.

"Carman was ejected from the vehicle and transported to Providence Alaska Medical Center in critical condition," the dispatch said.

A passenger in Costley's van was transported to the Alaska Native Medical Center in serious condition.
