Troopers: Wasilla man shoots, kills family member's dog during argument

A 28-year-old Wasilla man was arrested Thursday night after he shot and killed a family member's dog, according to Alaska State Troopers.

Troopers said Nicholas Dismukes had an argument with a family member in a home on North Pioneer Peak Drive. The argument escalated after Dismukes shot the dog in the living room, troopers said.

At about 9:40 p.m., troopers and Wasilla police officers got to the home and arrested Dismukes on a charge of misconduct involving a weapon.

Dismukes was in custody Friday at the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility.

Troopers spokeswoman Megan Peters said she did not have any additional information on the shooting Friday morning.
