Dimond continued its swimming and diving dominance Saturday at the Cook Inlet Conference championships at Bartlett by winning both the boys and girls titles.
The Lynx won their ninth consecutive boys championship and their sixth straight girls championship on the backs of double victories by Jarod O'Brien and Madeline Oakley. O'Brien and Oakley won their respective 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard breaststroke races.
"It gives them a lot of self confidence," Dimond coach Scott O'Brien said of his team. "I think they feel pretty good about how they swam, and I think that it's going to bode well for both the boys and girls next week at state."
The other double winners in the meet came in the sprint races, where Chugiak's Emmie Jennings and Service's Nathanial Adams won the girls and boys 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle, respectively.
On the diving board, Eagle River's Jami Stone won the 1-meter dive by more than 100 points with a score of 473.50. South's Savana Trueb finished in second with 358.55.
With the regional championship behind them, the CIC swimmers and divers prepare for state Friday and Saturday at Bartlett. Dimond has won six straight boys state championships heading into next weekend.
