Strong North Pacific storm moves into the Bering Sea

A strong storm from the North Pacific moved into the Bering Sea between the Aleutian Islands and the Pribilof Islands on Tuesday. The storm is expected to cause wet, heavy snow and gusts up to 70 miles per hour, the National Weather Service forecast.

By about 8 p.m. Tuesday, NWS meteorologist Luis Ingram said, the storm had caused some "blowing snow issues" for St. Paul.

The snow was expected to be "very wet" and during the heaviest snow and strongest wind periods visibility is expected to be less than a half mile, NWS wrote in a special weather statement Tuesday morning.

Weather conditions are expected to improve in the region during the day Wednesday as the storm moves out.
