Inbound Glenn Highway crash injures 3, slows commuters

Anchorage police were advising commuters to expect delays on the Glenn Highway on Wednesday morning after a crash inbound on the highway near Boniface Parkway injured three people.

Police spokeswoman Anita Shell said the collision -- involving an outbound car that lost control, crossed the median and struck a truck in the highway's inbound lane between Boniface and Muldoon Road -- was first reported at about 7:30 a.m.

"Occupants were transported to local hospitals with what appear to be non-life-threatening injuries," Shell wrote in a statement on the crash. "The inbound lanes are backed up for several miles."

Shell said the highway's left lane was blocked inbound for about an hour, with police reporting the scene cleared at about 8:45 a.m.
