Needless 911 assault calls in Nikiski lead to arrest by troopers

A Nikiski man was arrested Sunday night for harassing 911 dispatchers in several calls and falsely reporting an assault, Alaska State Troopers said.

Kyle Jack, 41, was charged with second-degree harassment and making a false report. Troopers said in a Monday dispatch that Jack started to call emergency services at about 8:45 p.m. Sunday.

"(Jack) began a series of 911 and administrative line phone calls to AST dispatch reporting issues ranging from prostitutes on Craigslist to an assault in the attic of his residence," troopers wrote.

Troopers responding to Jack's Pipeline Road home arrested him on new charges from the Sunday calls, as well as an outstanding arrest warrant for separate counts of second-degree harassment and making a false report, after no evidence of an assault was found.

Jack's criminal record includes a 2010 guilty plea to a felony DUI, elevated from a misdemeanor by two DUI convictions within the previous decade. He also has numerous convictions for misdemeanors such as third-degree assault and challenging people to fight.

An online inmate database listed Jack as in custody Monday morning at the Wildwood Pretrial Facility.
