Lundgren, Garrigus ski to slalom wins at Alyeska

Amanda Lundgren made a sizzling second run and Adam Garrigus was steady through both runs Saturday to become the only two-time winners in the Coca-Cola Holiday Classic alpine ski series at Alyeska.

Lundgren came from behind to take the women's slalom win. She trailed Madilyn Short by 1.4 seconds after the first run but won the second run by nearly two seconds. Her two-run total time of 1 minute, 35.25 seconds put her .55 ahead of runner-up Short.

Garrigus didn't win either of the men's slalom runs but was second in each to cruise to victory in 1:26.86 — more than four seconds faster than runner-up Conner Lane (1:30.99).

Austen Ericksson won the first run but faded to 11th place with a slow second run. Jack Stahla won the second run but it wasn't enough to make up for a slow first run and he wound up in sixth place.

The race was the last of four in the Coca-Cola series. Lundgren and Garrigus were the only skiers to win twice in the four-race Coca-Cola series, which ended Saturday. Short and Sanne Cassee were the other women's winners, and Stahl and Hunter Eid were the other men's winners.
