Seward Highway crash leaves 6 injured in same pickup truck

A head-on collision between two pickup trucks on the Seward Highway late last month left a Bird Creek driver unhurt, but sent everyone in the other vehicle to the hospital.

Alaska State Troopers said they were first informed of the collision, between 29-year-old Jordan Anderson's Ford F-250 and 46-year-old Anchorage resident Froilan Brandt's Dodge Ram, at about 5 p.m. on Dec. 26.

Troopers said in a Sunday dispatch that Anderson had lost control while headed south on icy roads at Mile 101.5 of the Seward, crossed the center line, and collided with Brandt.

"The Dodge Ram was occupied by six persons total, all of whom were transported by (emergency medical services) to an Anchorage hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries," troopers wrote. "Anderson was the sole occupant of the F-250 and was not injured."

Troopers said everyone in both pickups was wearing seat belts.
