Disappearance of Anchorage woman being treated as suspicious

Update, 1:10 p.m. Saturday: Police say the disappearance of Linda Skeek, a 32-year-old Anchorage woman missing since New Year's Day, is now being treated as suspicious.

"Linda has not yet been located, and since that time, police have received information that leads them to believe her disappearance is suspicious," police spokeswoman Renee Oistad wrote in an email. Oistad would not give further details.

Anyone with information on Skeek’s whereabouts is asked to call police dispatch at 907-786-8900.

Original story: A 32-year-old Anchorage woman has been missing since New Year’s Day, the Anchorage Police Department says.

According to APD, Linda Skeek left her South Anchorage home after she and her husband got into an argument. Skeek has not been seen since, police said.

“According to Linda's family, Linda has stayed away for an entire weekend before, but she always returns home by Sunday night so that she may go to work on Monday morning,” APD wrote in a release.

When Skeek didn’t show up for work Monday, her husband called police, they said.

Skeek was last seen wearing a black coat, red vest, and a red skirt. She is about 5’10” and 200 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.
