Keegan Messing of Girdwood slipped from fourth place to sixth place Saturday at the Canadian National Figure Skating Championships in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Messing, who has dual citizenship, was fourth and in medal contention after Friday's short program. But he lost points for falling on a jump in his long program Saturday.
Taking the gold medal was three-time world champion Patrick Chan.
