Troopers: Tip leads to seizure of drugs, guns, cash in Tok

More than $35,000 in illegal drugs and more than 30 firearms were seized by Alaska State Troopers in Tok on Tuesday, with one suspect in custody and charges filed against a second.

Troopers said in a Thursday dispatch that the bust was the product of a Monday tip regarding "suspected illegal drug activity" in the area.

Tok troopers requested help from Fairbanks-based members of the Statewide Drug Enforcement Unit, and on Tuesday investigators spoke with someone who bought drugs from a local home.

"It was also learned that there might be a large amount of methamphetamine, stolen guns, stolen jewelry, stolen vehicles, and stolen trailers at the residence," troopers wrote. "After conducting surveillance on the suspected illegal activity, troopers obtained a search warrant."

When troopers raided the home later Tuesday they arrested a convicted felon, 48-year-old Tok resident Floyd J. Stuck, on second-degree, third-degree and fourth-degree counts of misconduct involving controlled substances, as well as second-degree and third-degree counts of weapons misconduct. Troopers did not arrest a woman at the home but forwarded "numerous drug and weapons charges" against her to the Fairbanks district attorney's office.

"(T)he search warrant yielded 32 firearms (rifles, shotguns, pistols) of which half have been determined stolen, 10 grams of methamphetamine ($3,000 street value), 49 grams of suspected heroin (street value $29,400), 42 morphine tablets (street value $4,200) and 7 Hydrocodone/OxyContin Tablets (street value $700), gold nuggets and $1,618.00 in cash," troopers wrote.

Troopers said they are still investigating the case in the wake of Tuesday's seizure, which they billed "a major disruption to the illegal distribution of narcotics" in the Tok area.
