Houston man seriously injured in snowmachine crash

Alaska State Troopers say a snowmachiner suffered major injuries Saturday evening after he crashed while riding along a street in Houston.

A Sunday dispatch said troopers were called to the crash on Backhaus Street in which Houston resident Nickolas B. Eull, 29, was hurt just after 11:30 p.m. Saturday.

Investigation revealed (Eull) was operating his 2014 Ski-Doo snowmachine on the street, struck an embankment and was ejected," troopers wrote. "Eull was medevaced by helicopter to Providence (Alaska) Medical Center in Anchorage for serious injuries sustained."

Providence staff said Eull was still listed in serious condition Sunday morning.

Troopers are continuing to investigate the crash.
