UAA's Mullings GNAC women's basketball player of week

Megan Mullings, who last week helped UAA's No. 1-ranked women's basketball team clinch at least a share of the Great Northwest Athletic Conference regular-season title, on Monday was honored for her performances in two road victories.

The senior forward was named the GNAC women's player of the week after delivering 37 points, and 15 rebounds in conference victories at St. Martin's and Seattle Pacific. Mullings made 16 of 24 shots (.66.7 percent) last week. She leads the Seawolves in scoring (16.1 ppg) and rebounding (6.2), and is shooting 62.8 percent from the field for the season.

The Seawolves (30-1, 17-1 GNAC) close the regular season with two home games this week at the Alaska Airlines Center.

UAA on Thursday entertains GNAC second-place Western Washington (19-7, 15-3 GNAC), which handed the Seawolves their only official loss of the season on Dec. 5. UAA wraps the regular season Saturday against Simon Fraser (13-10, 11-7).
