Modest Mouse coming to Anchorage for summer concert

Modest Mouse is coming to Anchorage to play the annual Summer Solstice concert at Moose's Tooth, the restaurant announced on its Facebook page Wednesday.

The indie rock band, whose breakthrough album in 2004 included the hits "Float On" and "Ocean Breathes Salty," was formed in Issaquah, Washington. They released their sixth album, "Strangers to Ourselves," last March.

Modest Mouse will play the outdoors concert in the Moose's Tooth parking lot on June 18.

By Wednesday afternoon, the Facebook event already had more than 2,000 people interested and 1,000 marked as going to the show.

Tickets go on sale Feb. 25 at 12 p.m. at the Bear Tooth Theatrepub, or online at beartooththeatre.net for $60. Tickets will be $65 the day of the show.
