Leading goal scorer Breton returns for Aces' final season series

The Alaska Aces have regained leading goal scorer Justin Breton for their ECHL season-ending, three-game home series, which opens Wednesday night against the Colorado Eagles at Sullivan Arena.

Breton, a second-year winger, returned from his first stint in the American Hockey League, where he played two games for the Manitoba Moose under Keith McCambridge, the former Aces captain and bench boss.

To make room for Breton on the roster, the Aces released winger David Eddy, who was on his second tour with the club.

Breton owns 22-16—38 totals in 63 games for the Aces. He delivered significant improvement from his rookie season, when he earned 10-10—20 totals in 50 games.

The Colorado series affords Aces coach Rob Murray three finals looks at his team as he decides which players he wants to protect in the offseason as part of recruiting for next season.

The Eagles have seized 12 of a possible 16 points from their eight games against the Aces this season and are locked in a tight battle for the West Division crown with the Idaho Steelheads and Utah Grizzlies. Colorado carries an eight-game point streak (7-0-1) into the series.

Alaska, which has lost three straight games, is 2-4-2 in those eight games against Colorado, securing just six of the possible 16 points.
