It's time to preorder those ski passes, Alaskans. The Alyeska Resort in Girdwood has announced that seasonal, midweek, student and military passes are on sale through Oct. 31 for specially-discounted rates.
A look at the discounts:
-- Adult unlimited skiing and riding pass: $1,200
-- Student and military full season pass: $990
-- Child pass: $500
-- Adult midweek pass: $900
-- Student and military midweek pass: $700

Other passes and special deals are available from Alyeska through Halloween. On Nov. 1, all passes will revert to their full fees.
Alyeska hopes to open chairlifts for the 2011-2012 season on Nov. 23 at 10:30 a.m.
