Analyst: AK's oil taxes 'competitive'

According to the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner, a representative for an analysis firm told an Alaska Senate panel that the state's oil tax structure, which is currently a hot topic, is competitive when stacked up against comparable locations world-wide. The representative cautioned senators to be wary of simplified comparisons between national tax structures, and noted that in particular, the appealing speeds at which Alaska's tax credits and write-offs can be turned around, as well as the tax breaks themselves, are "very significant factor(s)" to potential investors.
