Assistant coach charged with sexual abuse of minor

According to the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner, an assistant wrestling coach at Eielson Jr./Sr. High School has been charged with fourth-degree sexual abuse of a minor after allegations she had a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old student.

An Air Force investigation of Amanda Sue Kallai began in November when the girl's father reported suspicious text messages on his daughter's cell phone.

The News-Miner said an official with the Air Force Special Office of Investigations questioned both Kallai and the girl, and both affirmed they became intimate last fall after meeting via the wrestling team the previous year. Kissing and massaging were involved.

Kallai has no criminal record in the state of Alaska, according to the Alaska Court System website.
