'Denali season' starting soon for American Alpine Institute

The American Alpine Institute is packing up and heading north, according the climbing organization's website. The institute sent one guide, one intern and a van from Bellingham, Wash. Thursday, heading due northwest about 2,218 miles to the Alaska hamlet of Talkeetna, the unofficial base point for McKinley climbers and pilots. Once the van arrives, AAI's "Denali season" will have officially started, the website says. "They are bringing up most of the equipment, food and effort it takes to get our Denali season up and running smoothly." The folks down in Bellingham made a fun little video to wish their two Alaskan emissaries, Dustin and Mary, a safe trip.
