According to the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner, multiple law enforcement agencies combined efforts in a raid in the Fairbanks area Thursday to stop an alleged plot to kill multiple Alaska State Troopers and U.S. District Court Judge Ralph Beistline. The raid resulted in five arrests, including that of Fairbanks-based militia leader Francis "Schaeffer" Cox, for whom Beistline issued a warrant in February when Cox failed to appear at court on a misdemeanor weapons charge. The raid also uncovered a cache of weapons, some prohibited by state and federal law. Read much, much more, here. One of the article's reader comments rightly reminds Alaska Beat that Cox once said that if he is jailed, it will give him the opportunity to recruit inmates to his cause, and leave a "screaming bee hive behind."
