According to The Globe and Mail (Canada), Canadians are gobbling vitamin D at an unprecedented rate after a newly released study indicated that people living at northern latitudes need much more supplemental intake of the nutrient than Health Canada has been recommending. The newly released study suggests Vitamin D is more important to the immune system and long-term health than people have understood so far. A nutritionist who spoke to the Mail said that no one ever asked about the drug until a few months ago, and then it was all people wanted to talk about. One vitamin retailer says sales of vitamin D have outpaced its sales of vitamin C by as much as 28 percent. Read a whole lot more, here.
