Kodiak discusses new library

According to the Kodiak Daily Mirror, a presentation by the Library's director detailed a long list of problems with the library's current site. It is crowded, poorly ventilated, and not sufficiently wired for computers or other electronic devices. The library's collection is disintigrating rapidly, and sensitive patrons can't stand to be in the building longer than 10 minutes because "a past oil spill that originated uphill from the library flowed under the children's section." Public comment seemed to favor building the new library, which might be modeled after the one built in Homer in 2006. Read about Kodiak's public discussion here.
