Time for Allen to be locked up

I met Beverly Masek in 1994 when she was running for the Alaska State House. She was an enthusiastic young woman very proud of her Native heritage. She wanted to make a difference in Juneau for her people and all Alaskans. She understood she was carrying on the tradition of prior Native leaders who have made a true difference for all Alaskans.

Former VECO Chairman and convicted felon Bill Allen wanted to control Masek and took advantage of her.

Masek's plea agreement and other court filings define the predatory actions of Allen and Smith, revealing that they targeted a weak, young woman for their own special oil and gas desires and needs. They used one of Allen's relatives as their agent.

Allen, along with his VECO VP Rick Smith, is the foundation for the FBI and Public Integrity political corruption prosecutions in Alaska and Washington, DC. Allen and Smith must be imprisoned immediately. And Allen's relatives involved in his corrupt acts must be prosecuted aggressively.

Allen, Smith and VECO inspired the dreams of  Masek by affirming that they "would be willing to sponsor her dog kennel and dog racing team." These conspiratorial predators knew exactly how to gain total control of Masek.

That is not to say that she is not absolutely responsible for her role with the Allen/VECO conspirators. She deserves no special treatment.

But it is time to now lock up Allen and Smith, who have been "cooperating" with the government for the past two and a half years.

Allen's relative or relatives should all receive enhanced prison sentences for their specific predatory conduct targeting of the weak. Rep. Tom Anderson, Rep. Pete Kott, Rep. Vic Kohring and Sen. John Cowdery were all weak individuals in different ways enamored with power. These public servants wanted to please the powerful, not Alaskans. They all compromised the public trust by betraying Alaskans for the powerful and wealthy VECO.

And they are not the only ones who may have betrayed Alaskans. Our most trusted federal investigative agency has also apparently violated our trust. And this should not go unpunished either.

FBI Special Agent Mary Beth Kepner and the Public Integrity attorneys from the U.S. Justice Department, through their special elevation of Bill Allen, his relatives and VECO, have destroyed Alaskans trust in Justice and its FBI. The FBI and Main Justice's internal investigations of its attorneys and agents' conduct with Bill Allen will be defining. No cover-up should be tolerated.
