Wine of the week: Pine Ridge Chenin Blanc/Viognier

I have always been a champion of the Pine Ridge Chenin Blanc/Viognier combo. It's delicious, tender and a perfect backdrop for hot afternoons and light foods. Since Alaska is getting its fair share of sun this year, now is the time to give this wine a try. Chenin is a simple and uncomplicated wine offering melon and citrus. Although the French have taken it to its highest level, our Chenins over here are springy and light. The Viognier adds honeysuckle aroma and sweetness for a bit more intrigue and complexity. Cost about $15.
