Wow! I just tasted Educated Guess Cabernet. This stuff is killer for the money. It's from an upstart winery, Roots Run Deep, and owner Mark Albrecht believes that Napa Valley need not cost $50 or more a bottle. His 2009 cabernet is about $25 around town, and the winery makes chardonnay and pinot too. The '09 cab has lovely, aromatics -- olive, black fruit, leaf, herb and oak. The lively mouth is tannic, balanced and achieves complexity by being generous and flavorful. What a great find -- I can't wait to taste their other creations. Cheers!
