The Foppianos of California are still at it, five generations later. This is real dirt-to-bottle juice -- no virtual winery here. Now petite sirah is their thing, but the 2010 sauvignon blanc is a must try. The nose is gooseberry, citrus and herb, and it's beautiful. The mouth is bright, with pink grapefruit, lemon and lime. The weight and feel is quite captivating, with a light chalky grip. Wonderful stuff, and the power and depth here are a value at $15.
