Letter: Bronson must go

Mayor Dave Bronson should be removed immediately by the Anchorage Assembly.

Bronson’s idea to pay airfare for homeless people to be sent south to keep warm for the winter is his latest fiasco and a terrible idea. Perhaps some homeless could come up with a relative to help, with the “free airfare” we taxpayers all pay for. How well will Bronson verify someone is going to house, feed and care for all the aspects that most homeless experience? My guess is he will not verify, just reserve and pay the airfare as fast as he can.

In turn, California, Arizona, Florida, and other places where Bronson uses our money to send people on a winter vacation in the sun, those states/mayors/ governors can return the deed by sending their homeless to Anchorage in the summer, to avoid extreme heat. Bronson is incapable of fiscal planning, never mind solving Anchorage’s homeless problems. Remove him now, please, Assembly members.
