Letter: Keeping our cool

The current political climate of our country is very disheartening. People are insulting each other, and sometimes death threats are being hurled at our elected officials, as well as their families. What’s going on?

It’s difficult to hold your tongue when someone is using theirs to offend. It is natural to want to respond in kind. However, life has taught us that there is a better path forward.

If you need an example of how to act with grace under fire, I invite you to consider President Joe Biden. Biden has been the target of vicious verbal attacks from the former president. Throughout it all, Biden remains cool, calm, and laser-focused on his job. He never calls people names. He never makes fun of them. He respects differences.

He remains presidential.
