Chaunti Hall landed a hefty 42.9-pound king salmon to seize control of the leaderboard at the 10-day Ship Creek Slam'n Salm'n Derby. Hall landed the big fish on opening day of the 10-day derby. Only three of the past six derby winners have landed larger fish.
Prizes estimated to be worth $13,000 await the winner, including a 16-foot Klamath boat, trailer and 25-horsepower motor.
