Dozens of baristas and coffee fans filled the Anchorage Community Works warehouse Saturday evening to see who would be crowned winner of the latte art competition.
Showcasing their skills in pouring intricate designs in milk foam and espresso crema, baristas from Kaladi Brothers, Steam Dot, Black Cup, Caffe D'Arte, Moose A'la Mode and others faced off in a bracket-style competition.
The competition was a "free pour," where the design has to be created without the aid of spoons or straws, and mostly featured a tulip design.
After a three-hour showdown, O'Malley Centre Steam Dot manager Jeff Dow was crowned winner of the latte art competition, giving him the prize of a home espresso machine valued at $4,500.
