Photos: Anchorage Memorial Day 2015

Veterans were honored and fallen service members remembered at Memorial Day events held around Anchorage on Monday.

A morning ceremony sponsored by Mayor Dan Sullivan and the Anchorage Military and Veterans Affairs Commission took place 10 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial on the Delaney Park Strip.

The American Legion hosted a ceremony at Anchorage Memorial Park Cemetery at noon, followed by a pig roast at Jack Henry Post 1.

Fort Richardson National Cemetery sponsored its traditional Memorial Day service at noon as well. Monday's events featured music, speakers, 21-gun salutes, prayers and wreaths.

The Alaska Vets Motorcycle Club performed Rolling Thunder on the park strip.

The Anchorage Corvette Association held a car show at Northway Mall, accepting donations of money and food to support the Armed Services YMCA food bank and the Last Frontier Honor Flight program.
