Eleven candidates are on the ballot in the race for mayor and six candidates are vying for Anchorage School Board seats.

Voters head to the polls for the 2015 municipal election on Tuesday, April 7, 2015, in Anchorage. Those who turn out will help choose the next mayor from among candidates Lance Ahern, Paul Bauer Jr., Ethan Berkowitz, Dan Coffey, Dustin Darden, Amy Demboski, Andrew Halcro, Timothy Huit, Christopher Jamison, Jacob Seth Kern, and Samuel Joseph Speziale III. If no one candidate receives 45 percent of the vote, a runoff will be held later.

Six candidates are vying for three Anchorage School Board seats, with two candidates competing for each seat. Kathleen Plunkett faces off against Derrick Slaughter, Tam Agosti-Gisler is challenged by David Nees, and Elisa Snelling opposes Starr Marsett

Voters are also deciding on several bond issues, the largest of which would fund capital improvements for the Anchorage School District.
