Military members, veterans and spouses received employment and networking advice from panelists at the JBER Transition Summit Wednesday at the Dena'ina Civic and Convention Center in Anchorage.

The two-day event, focused on helping service members and families preparing to exit the military, features workshops for job seekers and employers, a networking reception, and concludes with a hiring fair Thursday.

Over 100 employers are present to assist about 420 registered military personnel, veterans and spouses. Panelist Bob Anderson, an infrastructure manager at CH2MHill, told the audience "I look for quality, integrity, safety. That's you guys right here!"

The event continues Thursday; walk-ins are welcome.

The program is sponsored by BP America, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, the U.S. Army, the U.S. Air Force, the U.S. Departments of Defense, Labor and Veterans Affairs; the U.S. Small Business Administration, and participating employers.
