Photos: Missing then found sled dog

An Iditarod lead dog named Whistler went missing Thursday hours after he, his German musher and the rest of the team landed in Anchorage, their last big stop in a road trip that began in Norway. The three-year-old team leader had been seen zipping around the trails of Anchorage, only to be lured back to his owner Monday by good Samaritans armed with enchilada's and roast beef. Sylvia Furtwangler is an Iditarod rookie, but is no stranger to distance racing. In 2003, she successfully ran the Yukon Quest.
