The hockey game was taut from the opening bounce of the puck through to the final horn. Skaters chased big hits. Goaltenders delivered big saves. Post-whistle scrums were common. Hometown guys authored the game-tying and game-winning goals. And fans inside Sullivan Arena required only the edge of their seats.

Once again, in a rivalry that launched in 1979 and conducted hostilities for the 157th time with Friday night's opener in the annual Governor's Cup, UAA-UAF did not disappoint.
