Wellness on Wheels, Anchorage Department of Health and Human Services's newest mobile health clinic, outside the DHHS headquarters on Tuesday, August 18, 2015. The mobile clinic will offer health screenings, immunizations and will allow the municipality to meet the needs of underserved Anchorage residents.

The Anchorage Department of Health and Human Services has a new mobile clinic, dubbed Wellness on Wheels.

At its unveiling on Tuesday, Mayor Ethan Berkowitz was the first Anchorage resident to use the facility, getting his Tdap vaccine from nurse Drew Shannon.

The 28-foot custom trailer has a waiting room and exam room and will offer immunizations, TB and STD testing and public health education.

The mobile clinic will allow the city to meet the needs of underserved Anchorage residents, including the homeless.

The city plans on posting a calendar of where the clinic will be on its website.
