UAA libero Militante-Amper racked GNAC volleyball honor

UAA sophomore libero Kyla Militante-Amper, who helped the Seawolves volleyball team rack four tournament wins last week in California, has been honored as the Great Northwest Athletic Conference's Defensive Player of the Week.

Militante-Amper averaged 5.94 digs per set at the D2 West Region Volleyball Showcase, where the Seawolves (10-1), ranked No. 12 nationally in Division II, ran their winning streak to nine matches. She also delivered on 57 of her 58 serves.

The GNAC weekly award was the third of Militante-Amper's career.

The Seawolves open GNAC play this week at the Alaska Airlines Center, where they entertain Saint Martin's (4-0) on Friday and Seattle Pacific (4-4) on Saturday. Both matches start at 7 p.m.
