AFC middleweight champion Andy 'Tank Mode' Enz has just dropped a unanimous decision in his first UFC bout, coming up short on all three judges' scorecards (30-27, 20-27, 30-26).
Enz was rocked early in the first round, and suffered multiple takedowns to his opponent, Clint Hester. The match was on the undercard of UFC 169.
The loss is Enz's first professional defeat. Enz, who cut his teeth wrestling for Service High School, had gone a perfect 7-0 in his home state. The loss extends the current UFC drought for Alaskan fighters (who also fought in Alaska). Such a fighter has not won a bout since Justin Buchholz submitted Corey Hill at UFC 86 in 2008.
